HOW IT WORKS
I am aware that I have received a number of new subscribers to my publications and some might be wondering what the WFSIW is all about. So, before we get to today’s sample taken from the growing archive, an explanation is called for.
First the title. WFSIW saves me having to write “Words From Spirit-Inspired Writing” every time. I know it doesn’t roll off the tongue, but hey, move beyond that! Several times each week, I take my digital notebook and stylus pen and sit in my cabinet in my sanctuary at home.
After a short period of sitting in the silence, I attune to the spirit connect (a person in the spirit world that wants to share some words with me), and then proceed to write whatever they share with me. Usually the topics are about my personal growth, though more recently the topics are aimed at a wider audience. The spirit speakers have become aware that others are reading their words.
I never know what is going to be talked about until I start writing, and then I only know the next few words or a sentence at a time. I make great effort to not fill in the words, or use my own knowledge to ad-lib. Yes, the words are received through my imagination, in the same way that mental mediumship works.
I am probably in a lighter altered state of mind during the writing, though I can still hear and see normal events around me. I am working towards being able to allow the spirit speaker to control the pen entirely without me needing to. This is something that may take many months or years to achieve.
When I transcribe the notes to a font format for using in the WFSIW publications, I always include the original written notes as evidence. I also add a summary of my own thoughts about the notes, which is headed ‘Afterthoughts’. I use a graphic to calculate how much I believe I was an influence in the process. Of course, at this lighter state of altered awareness, my own mind will always play some small part in the process. I have learnt how to judge for myself how much I was involved.
Nothing is censored, altered or adjusted. This means that there are often grammar errors in the writing. Remember, I am hearing the words, and we all speak differently than we write.
FOR THE GEEKS: I use an Onyx Boox Nova 3 e-ink notebook & Lamy Pen/Stylus. Notes are automatically saved as PDF Files before exporting to hard drive. This is an initially expensive investment and is not necessary. A traditional notepad and pen could be used.
Early in 2023, after nearly 12 months of doing this exercise, I came up with the idea of creating podcasts of the sessions, using an artificial voice. These podcasts bring the words to life and moves the writing to another level. You can find the AI versions on your favourite podcast app by searching for ‘Spirited Talk Podcasts’.
I fund this work through a subscription fee basis. For £3.50 every month, the subscriber receives access to eight new sessions every month, plus up to four new releases of articles in the publication ‘The Inspired Spirit’.
If you’d like to support my work and receive email updates of the latest releases, several times every week, please do subscribe to the paid version. Your fees help towards the cost of maintaining the distribution fees for the podcasts.
Now let’s get to today’s sample from the archives. Enjoy.
WORDS FROM SPIRIT-INSPIRED WRITING
originally written on Wednesday 16th November 2022 at 01:40 am
We are ready for you. You’ve been rather busy doing manual work. Better for you at times. There are a few of us here to share this occasion with you. My name is Thomas James. I was a vicar when I was in my last life on earth. There are three ladies here tonight and one other man. The lady’s were interested because they share your interest in the tarot. You’ll remember Pamela, one of the lady’s here again. But I don’t want to talk about tarot!
I want to share with you some thoughts that should serve to inspire you. I know that one or two of your readers might appreciate this too.
One of the known benefits that you’re often asked to include is that of learning to live in the moment more often. The benefits of this exercise are many.
The first benefit is that while you truly bring your thinking into the here and now, you allow your mind to release many tensions and stresses it may be holding from events you are involved in. Living in the moment as closely as you can, slows down the nonsense thoughts that steal from your energy banks. Living in this moment therefore allows the mind and body to take a break and recharge.
Also, thoughts that might be lingering from past worries and events are halted and any associated worries are no longer taxing the mind.
Whilst you’re living that moment, the world around you will be, in a sense, amplified and brought more into focus. Instead of passing through the moment without noticing it, you become part of it and are able to interact with more intensity.
Of course, it is not possible on your earth based lifestyle and biology to maintain such a focus for very long. The only times that are longer in the moment are those that you spend doing something that brings you pleasure and are important to you.
You like playing your piano and this is a wonderful example of when you are living in the moment, because of the concentration type. Some people suggest that time spent in the gardens are helpful for living in the moment, but I disagree.
When people are gardening, their minds tend to be planning ahead and the mind remains quite active. This type of activity tends to be a distractive type of thinking, where other thoughts can be rested. Such as worrying about shopping, cleaning and other chores you may have to do. So that is why I don’t feel that gardening, painting, DIY or other such pursuits are the best for living in the moment.
Let me offer you some ideas about how you can live more in the moment. They may sound simple, because they are. Unless you try them, you’ll never experience what I’m suggesting.
Make a new habit of deliberately stepping away from what you are doing at least once in the morning, and once in the second half of the day. Stop what you are doing and take a moment to focus on something else around you, such as a flower, a colour, a sound or a vision such as the sky.
Focus on the subject/object and ask yourself what it is you admire about it. Enjoy its form, it’s colour, its atmosphere and its wonder of creation. Consider how that subject/object enhances your life and how poorer you’d be without it.
Take the sky for example. The colours, the clouds, the birds that pass by in it. Appreciate how it feels to be connected to it and appreciate how important it is to you. Do this with any object or subject.
You’ll probably only manage a few minutes at first, but with practice, you’ll be able to maintain that focus more. This is pure in the moment time. Discipline yourself to now allow any other thoughts to be in focus.
Let me give you another example you can use. Again do this at least twice every day, though I’d recommend doing it as often as you can. Close your eyes and allow only sounds to be your focus. Listen to everything around you. Stretch your hearing to hear everything nearby and train your hearing to amplify distant sounds so they become clearer. Again, don’t allow other thoughts to take your focus.
Here’s a final exercise you can do to improve your ability to appreciate the here and now. Take time to listen to your inner voice, the higher self. What is it saying to you? How is this voice encouraging you and supporting your life? Offer gratitudes to the universe and the greater powers around you. Thank the powers for the air you are breathing and the sights and sounds you’re part of. Ask your inner spirit if you are doing all you can to and for your greater good.
I’ve shared some examples of how you can appreciate the power of living in the moment more often. For these to work for you, and to receive the benefits, then you need to build them into your other routines each and every day without fail.
Over time, you will learn to feel the benefits and appreciate these moments far more than those you simply pass through as a passenger of.
My word, we’ve said a lot tonight and you’ve had to write very fast. Thank you for giving us the voice and means to talk to you through this medium of words. We’ll always be here to guide you and support you. Sleep well and be at peace.
God is with you.
ORIGINAL NOTES:
📌 AFTERTHOUGHTS
These are my original thoughts after writing the session
At the end of this sitting, I felt so inspired by the words that I wrote the following comments at the end of the notes:
I finished writing at 02:28
Inspiring and clear words.
It took 48 minutes of fast writing to transcribe all the connected person wanted me to write. The message and the content were clear and concise and it was a wonderful session.
What I love most about this example is that the spirit communicator knows exactly what my personality is like and what expectations I have. Everyone talks about enjoying spending time in the moment and how important it is, but rarely do they share practical ways of doing so. This speaker addresses it with three stunningly brilliant methods that we can easily embrace into our lifestyle.
During the writing of these afterthoughts, I took a minute out to admire the various colours of items on the desk around me. While doing this, I also noticed that my tinnitus was present in the background!
This speaker gave his name as Rev. Thomas James. I wonder if it’s the same person as the one that shows at the top of the listing for a Google search. If it is, how exciting is that!
Your feedback comments and thoughts are always welcome and brighten my day no end! You can also email me directly if you want on media@spiritedtalkpodcast.com
Thank you Trevor for this reminder and your Spirit Connect for a really great Session in the First Place. Like you say to be given instruction on "How To Do This" is Truly Wonderful! Thank you so very much. I will be endeavouring to carry out some of these experiences initially and working my way up to more!!! Being a retired person makes it more easy too! Hopefully I won't get so lost "in the moment" I forget to do other things, 😂 Sincerely Thank You Both Once Again. xx
