🔸 I CONFESS, I LOVE IT!
If there’s one subject to provoke others’ opinions more than any other it is whether we watch fly-on-the-wall programs on television. Let me put my tuppence worth in the ring first, after all, it’s my article! As a rule, neither I nor Jane follows soaps or reality shows on TV. We have no interest in fake people, talentless individuals, or tiresome storylines far removed from the real world. But there is one exception to that rule.
We always watch, and thoroughly enjoy ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’. It’s the one show that has us hooked from day one to the last day three weeks later. Some of you are condemning me for lack of taste, while others are with me on this secretly, but unable to build the courage to admit it publicly!
Personally, I love the show for many reasons. It’s presented by two of the finest presenters in the business, it’s a high-budget production and it reveals the other side of so-called celebrities in a testing environment away from the attention of the media, almost!
I find it inspiring to watch these individuals push themselves out of their comfort zones and their interactions with others in a closed environment without the luxuries of life surrounding them. I cannot wait to find out how Boy George interacts with the challenges and with Matt Hancock when he arrives in the camp.
I think the show shows human nature stripped to its most basic and I learn a lot from the psychology of the interactions between the contestants. Anyway, that’s my opinion, for what it’s worth! ▪
