🔹 WHEN OUR FAITH IS OF NO USE
A couple of weeks before the Christmas holiday period, Jane’s mother passed to the spirit world in circumstances that heavily reflect the state of the UK’s health system at this time. That aside, Jane, her brother John and myself had to overcome the grief and upset thrown upon us without warning.
Barbara, Jane’s mother passed away in a local respite hospice two weeks after her initial incident occurred. Death has several facets we all have to adjust to. One is the actual death while another stronger emotion is the realisation that we will never see that person again.
As a spiritualist that knows beyond a doubt that there is another life after this one, I am fortunate that the grief is somewhat lightened - but not entirely. During such times, even my strong beliefs are tested to a point where doubts about my beliefs could creep in if allowed to.
My words of conviction that Barbara lives on, reunited with her late husband, carry little or no comfort to the family. There is no proof. No evidence to back up my belief, therefore my words appear hollow and without foundation. Worse still, if Barbara were to send me a message of her arrival in her new world, who would believe it? Why would they? Worse still, the message could be construed as distasteful under the circumstances.
The extensive knowledge I have about the continuation of life after earthly death is personal and must remain so during the weeks of grieving. My abilities as a conduit for the spirit world are of no use to those grieving, especially if they are non-believers or unaware of the possibilities.
During such times, the best way we can help those grieving is by listening and with an abundance of love and sympathy. Our conversations about there being another world are not always what the person grieving wants to hear. It is therefore up to us to be careful in what we say and how we say it. Listen, console and avoid talking about anything that could add friction to a difficult and upsetting passage of time that the person grieving has to endure. â–ª
✒ WORDS FROM SPIRIT-INSPIRED WRITING
| written on Sunday 13th November 2022 at 06:41 am
Good morning, nice of you to join us again. There are times in your life on earth when it is okay to walk away from something. To step back and leave the scene that is playing out.
Sometimes the best observations are done from a distance as it reveals the bigger picture. You’ve heard of the quote that says ‘ being too close to the tree doesn’t allow you to see the entire forest.’
Stepping back is not the same as walking away for good. Stepping back can allow one to enjoy the landscape and to see where they are in the bigger picture.
We know you are sometimes struggling to keep growing as you are used to doing. You have a few other challenges drawing on your energy. If you feel you want to step back for a period, it might do you some good.
We know you enjoy transcribing our words and how you always try to find time for connecting. But we also are aware that you’re [illegible word] with other things that need doing. You’ve held your studio under dust sheets for most of this year and are concerned about what to do with it. Well, take a look at the situation.
You’ve stepped back from the recording side of your work because of the expense it was costing you. In that time away from it, what have you learnt? What does the bigger picture now tell you?
You know now that the actual podcasts are still being downloaded across the planet, so they are still working. Soon you will have them all back out in that virtual world. At that point, you have to decide once and for all, should you create more new ones or should you close the studio for good.
For what it’s worth, this voice you are hearing, whether you believe it’s your own inner spirit and thoughts deep inside, or whether you believe it to be the voice of the spirit world, wants to help.
Wait if you must. But we feel you might be better to restart once more and create occasional new recordings to share with the world. We suggest aiming for one brand new guest recording every month. Then use your other time to create some shorther recordings that need less time to edit and produce.
You have a following that will be so happy to hear this new work. It will also give you more focus and direction. We’ve inspired you to write this so early in the morning because we want to help you get back to what you enjoy doing.
This is truly the power of your inner voice - the voice of spirit.
Think on. We’ve committed you via the pen to a new plan. Start planning ahead. It is perhaps time for you to step back into the project. Plan the shorter versions and arrange a big interview. It will be good for you and many people will be so excited.
Now I know we woke you up to do this writing. Perhaps now you should close the book on this sesion and rest a little more while you think over these words. Thank you for writing our words. We are always here to listen as we do, and will help wherever we can, though the decisions are always yours.
Thank you my dear friend.

📌 AFTERTHOUGHTS
As I often mention, there is some time between the actual writing of the notes and the transcribing of them for the purpose of this publication. I rarely, if ever, read the notes after they are freshly written. They remain on the notepad until this final process. That always means that I am writing the notes, and reading them for the first time. Often, I am surprised by the content which is ‘new’ to me!
During the production of this edition, I was surprised at some of the content and how in align it is with where I am right now. I am in the early stages of planning a new podcast that might come about by the spring of 2023. I have been giving much thought to the production and format and have already created some storyboard timeline ideas. So it’s interesting that I must have been giving this some deep thought for a few weeks without being entirely aware of doing so.
My favourite quote from this session is:
This is truly the power of your inner voice - the voice of spirit.
Firstly, this expression seems a little removed from my own way of thinking. I’m not sure that I would have ever penned such a phrase because it requires a very strong conviction. Perhaps I have that conviction without knowing it!
