HOW WE CAN MEASURE OUR OWN GROWTH
I’m not talking about our height or weight here, I’m talking about our actual spiritual growth. The challenge we often have in trying to measure our unfoldment and development is we forget where we started and much of the journey we’ve taken to get here! At my age, I can barely remember what I had for breakfast, let alone my psychic journey.
Earlier today, (Wednesday 1st March) I prepared a free version WFSIW. In these editions, the writing session is one from the growing archives. This particular session was originally written in July 2022, 223 days ago.
When I re-read the inspired words, they appeared new to me, like I was reading them for the first time. I realised that the words were powerful and poignant, particularly to me personally.
Normally, I would copy/paste the Afterthoughts section from the original edition into the new Free WFSIW. But when I read what I’d written about the spirit words, I realised that I’d originally completely missed the point within the writing. I was surprised by how much I have grown since I wrote those original Afterthoughts.
The Bamboo can lay dormant for many long years giving the appearance of being dead. Then it shoots to life, growing several inches of new growth each new day.
I believe we often live like the bamboo. Every day taking in new information, new experiences and new knowledge, like pieces of a jigsaw. Then one day, the key piece is revealed and suddenly, we can see the bigger picture.
I have always been a strong advocate for students of mediumship to keeping notes and journals. Very few actually do, but those that do, have a reference to be able to compare themselves from yesterday with themselves of now. I am lucky that my words from spirit-inspired writing are a precise journal. As happened today, I can clearly see where I have grown in the last few months.
