BE HONEST WITH YOUR EXPECTATIONS
I’ve never liked the way some mediums suggest that one has to be born with the gift of mediumship to be any good at it. It comes across as arrogant and demeaning to anyone else learning the craft later in life. I’ve always believed that we are born equal and it’s our life path that chooses if and when we reveal our hidden potential.
But is that entirely true, or are the apparently gifted at birth type remotely correct? Everyone could learn to play a piano, but how many of us can truly attain Chopin status with the instrument? Who is right and who is wrong? Both!
Within the communities there are those that are gifted with talents others can only wish for. Artists that have the ability to create wonderful work with the pen and brush. Musicians that have a pitch perfect hearing. Doctors and nurses that have a natural caring temperament. DIYers that can work with all sorts of tools and materials. The list is endless. And the same is true with psychic abilities.
“A jack of all trades,” my dad would say to me, “and a master of none.” Some people are fortunate enough to have a range of abilities that they can put their hands to, like me I suppose you could say. But honing those skills to a fine art takes much effort, and sometimes no matter how much effort you put in, you just can’t do it. That is natural. Everyone has things they do well and other things they’re not so good at, no matter what effort it is given.
That’s where we have to be careful to not pursue some desire that is beyond our natural abilities. I can write, for example, but I ain’t never going to be a JK Rowling, no matter how long I write. I have had students in my circle that almost desperately wanted to become mediums. But the truth was, they showed little potential.
What are your expectations? Are they realistic or just pipe dreams? Are you stacking the odds and doing everything it takes to achieve that goal, that desire? Or are you wasting time and effort with little or no rewards. So, once in a while it is worth being honest with yourself and reviewing your expectations.
